Watching the coverage of the crisis in Pakistan, watching a leader, so terrified of losing power, try and quash any opposition, I am terrified and fascinated.
I want to know why, I want to know what led to this. I want to know what’s going to happen next – it could be very bad and very dangerous. It could, certainly lead to another war (or police action) – more fighting, more bombs.
More nuclear weapons in the hands of people who have little respect for the lives of their fellow man.
It always takes a major event to get my brain going.
I am unwilling to keep my head down and pretend nothing is happening just because life is easier that way. I want to be educated.
I have the disease of most of my generation – I can’t stand sitting idle, I want to change the world and I know that simply being a good citizen isn’t the way to do it.
I don’t know how yet, but I want to make things happen, I want to speak my mind, I want to change the way I live my life so that I’m not just living.
I will be pro-active.
